GIANLUCA CAPURSO
Gianluca Capurso (1981) receives his PhD in "Building Engineering: Architecture and Construction" from University of Rome Tor Vergata in February 2010. From 2013 he collaborates voluntarily to SIXXI studies and researches according to the rules of his belonging Administration.
In the period 2005-2010 he takes part in the researches coordinated by Prof. Sergio Poretti, in the Research Team "Architecture and Construction", about history of Italian architecture and construction, the conservation of Italian works of architecture and the history of engineering in Twentieth Century. Between these researches: "Structure and Architecture. Surveys on Postwar Italy"; "Architectural Construction in Post-war Italy (1945-65). Conservation and Restoration Techniques and Procedures" (PRIN 2006); "Confindustria Building in viale dell'Astronomia at Eur in Rome: restoration guidelines" (2007).
In 2006 he collaborates with the National Committee for the centenary celebration of the birth of the architect Mario Ridolfi. In 2009 he’s engaged by the Italian Ministry of Culture in the valorisation and cataloguing of the personal and professional archive of the Italian architect Arnaldo Foschini. In 2009-2010 he collaborates with the MAXXI Museum in Rome, the Archive of the Modern in Mendrisio and the National Central Archive in Rome for the exhibition "Luigi Moretti architetto. Dal Razionalismo all'informale" carrying on a research about the use of structural skeleton in the works of Luigi Moretti, focused on the Tower of Stock Exchange in Montreal, designed in collaboration with Pier Luigi Nervi.
The results of his studies have been shown in several national meetings and published in their proceedings and other volumes.
In 2005-2009 he also collaborates in didactics for bachelor’s and master’s degree in Building Engineering and in Building Engineering – Architecture at "Tor Vergata" University of Rome.
