Ferrocement Restoration First ferrocement work by P.L. Nervi, built in 1945-46. The pavilion, which is located in Rome's suburban periphery, is nowadays occupied by a large parking lot. Awaking Activities carried out included the followings: - fundraising for the restoration's work of the building (generously sponsored by Italcementi Group and Rome tor Vergata University); - pro bono developing and managing the restoration work (Winter 2013 - Spring 2013; SIXXI team + SA.GI. lavori snr by Santino & Giuliano Ritarossi); - expediting an Happening inside the pavilion (in collaboration with an Art Gallery and a well known designer) scheduled in October 2013; - starting the procedure to have the building considered for listing; - creating a full-scale model of a ferrocement piece, according to the Pier Luigi Nervi's Patent: the model, with a size of 135x45x100cm, reproduces a portion of the corrugated wall of the Magliana Pavilion (SA.GI. lavori snr). It will be exposed, with the movie filmed during the production, during the next Happening. |
