KANOKWAN TRAKULYINGCHAROEN
Kanokwan Trakulyingcharoen (1979) is a registered architect and an architecture writer in Thailand and graduated in architecture from the King Mongkut Institute of Technology Ladkrabang in 2001.
She obtained European Master in History of Architecture from the University of Rome III in 2009 and then PhD in Building Engineering: architecture and construction from the University of Rome "Tor Vergata" in 2012, for which she was awarded the Henry Belin du Pont Fellowship of the Hagley Museum and Library (2011).
Since 2009, she conducts her research in collaboration with the team "Architecture and Construction" coordinated by Sergio Poretti and Tullia Iori, with particular reference to the relationship between design and construction process in American architecture of the Twentieth century.
Among her researches: "Hubert-Jan Henket's Dutch Embassy in Thailand: Integration of Dutch and Thai architectural characteristics", "Conservation of the E42 architectural drawings in the Central Archive of Italy", "Seagram Building in New York: architecture and construction". Her applied research focuses mainly on the evolution of American and European modern architecture and their relationship with construction technology, particularly on structural iron and steel.
She was a collaborating editor for Art4d magazine in Bangkok from 2007 to 2008 and has been an architecture contributor since then. She is an associated editor for the volume "Endless Stainless" (2008).
She also works as a tutor in teaching for workshops, laboratories and courses (University of Rome "Tor Vergata"). The result of her research's work has been published in various articles and volumes.

She is a postdoc Research Assistant. Her role in SIXXI research includes cast iron, iron and steel structural works in XX Century in Italy.
